If Pedro was killed after the captain's interrigation.... then who was that that Mercedes was hugging (that looked almost exactly like pedro) when the re-enforcement troops came in and ended up saving her?

oh no, the guy that was captured was not her brother Pedro, she was screaming his name because she "thought" is was her brother who was captured. it turned out to be another guy (I forgot his name tho)

I thought they were going to actually show him get hurt by the captian but luckily the audience did not have to endure his torture and they cut right away as the Vidal swung the hammer . . .
