ok Twee or someone who knows a lot about the story of the first game can you explain it to me? I dun get it even after beating it.

You are some guy running around water world and there are big daddys and some little sisters. I don't get where they came from and the Mr. Andrews guy who turns out to be the mastermind of it all. I don't get what he was doing there either.

Andrew Ryan has all this money and he hates government stuffs so he builds a giant
city underground in the 50s. He gets a bunch of people to live there mostly scientist
who now have no legal restrictions to their work. They make Adam from this sea slug
found in the ocean. Found out through horrible experiments the adam give super human abilities. Again through horrible experiments they find the most efficient way to grow and harvest Adam is to implant it in a human subject. the best subject for survival was little girls around the age of 9. People ended up going mad over adam and the powers it gives you like drugs. Big daddies are genetically enhanced/mutated humans psychologically brain washed into protecting the little girls with their lives. The little girls now little sisters also are now bonded with the big daddies. The big daddies now protect the little sisters from raging people mutating from to much adam. They are then known as splicers. A man named Frank Fontain has a power struggle with Andrew Ryan and a big civil war goes down. Frank Fontain then somewhat defeated fakes his death and becomes Atlas. He tries again to overthrow Ryan. A while ago Ryan had an affair with his wife and got this girl pregnant. she gave birth to a boy who was then subjected to genetic engineering and psychological brainwashing. He is the main character played by you. Obviously because of time line errors and by listening to tapes by dr Suchong the main scientist in all this big daddy and little sister stuff along with dr Tanembum Jack "the main character" had a genetic modification making him age from small boy around 9 to older 20 year old. He also
is brainwashed into doing whatever anyone says by them saying "would you kindly"
in their command. he is sent to the surface for some reason I forget but made
to come back by Fontain by command. Throughout the game Fontain in the guise of
Atlas commands you to do all the quests in the game. This was a big twist and shock
in the game realizing at the end that you thought you were doing the game because
you wanted to but your being controlled. big brain (Censored) there.
Finally when you meet Ryan he commits suicide by commanding you to kill him.
dr Tanembum who was the cause of the little sisters helps you remove the
brainwashing to fight Fontain. At the end when you kill fontain if you didn't
kill any lil sisters to get adam (i couldn't hurt the lil girls) you save a bunch and
take them to the surface to grow and live happy lives. they are at your deathbed
when your old and they are fully grown. very beautiful ending.
BUT if you killed and harvested any of them you get the bad guy douche bag ending.
where you kill the group of lil sisters that helped you and let a bunch of splicers
to the surface where they massacre a rescue ship. also you unleash a nuke on the world.

I loved this game very much and loved the story line. You really have to listen to
the audio tapes that are found in the game. (I listened to them all cuz I NERDZ)
sry if i got carried away in the typing. (even more nerd points for typing this all
from memory and not looking it up lol)

ahh that makes so much more sense with you explaining it. I could not understand what was going on in the game through those tapes. Either the noise around me blocked out what they were saying or I was having to fight while they were talking lol

I did save all the little sisters too and had the happy ending =)

Praise the lord, they turned up the audio diaries' volumes in BioShock 2. Hands down the WORST part of BioShock the first.

And I gotta give Twee credit, that's a damn good memory and summary of BioShock.

yeah I was surprised they made the tape so muffled. It was like telling the whole main story too lol

I really loved bioshock. It was one of the first games I completely beat
going into the whole gaming world.

There making a movie off the first one. Its facing budget issues
but its gonna be a "hard R" rated movie the producer says.

Hopefully is its good and scary.

I wonder how many lil sisters they'll have on the set. The behind
