Title: Dead Space 2

Serenity - December 12, 2009 04:31 AM (GMT)
HECK YES

I loved the original Dead Space and this one is looking even more awesome:

http://www.endsights.com/news/10963/new-de...tails-revealed/

Premature scans taken from January’s Game Informer have come to fruition as the issue has started landing in mailboxes. Contained therein, as promised, is an absolute treasure-trove of details concerning Dead Space 2. For those who don’t subscribe (or are simply too impatient to wait for their own copy to arrive), here are some of the highlights (those afraid of pre-release details should close their eyes now):

* Dead Space 2 is set three years after the original.
* Isaac is no longer mute, and will have true dialogue in the game.
* The game is set on a massive space station known as the Sprawl, which is built upon one of Saturn’s moons, and makes the Ishimura look downright tiny in comparison. It will contain whole themed areas, like residential quarters, and public spaces.
* Isaac will be arriving on the Sprawl as the Necromorph outbreak begins, and will be able to witness the panic that overtakes the station from the start, which will apparently result in the game having more and more Necromorphs as more and more citizens are killed as the game progresses.
* Zero Gravity has been tweaked, allowing Isaac to fire weapons mid jump. Additionally, you’ll be able to control the direction of your drifting through space.
* As expected, the game will have multiplayer, with the article stating that you’ll be able to “strategically dismember your friends.”
* Isaac’s suit is once again a dynamic piece of equipment, which will come equipped with even more customization options in the way of visual upgrades.
* There will be loads of new enemy and weapon types, like the Javelin Gun, which pins enemies to the wall. In terms of enemies, one major addition is something called the Stalker, an enemy that hunts in packs. According to the article, one Stalker may draw your attention from around a corner, not attacking, but rather simply looking at you and making funny noises. While you are paying attention to it, the rest of the pack is creeping up on you from behind.

With all of this (and more) to look forward to, Dead Space 2 has definitely earned a high spot on my must-have games list. Are you all as excited to jump back into Isaac Clarke’s shoes as I am?

Yea the first Dead Space was sweet but I stil havn't beat it yet, I can't get past the cannon part where you have to destroy the asteriods. They actually annouced Dead Space 2 at E3 2009 back in the summer. I will have to check out the new one when it comes out.

purplefreak3 - January 19, 2010 04:28 AM (GMT)

Serenity - January 19, 2010 05:10 AM (GMT)
DS2 will be awesome from what i have read, and the multiplayer will be awesome

Twee - January 22, 2010 01:10 AM (GMT)
I so would have gotten the dead space outfit if it was cheaper.
Actually I was thinking of getting the dead space suit but a bioshock
helmet. they don't have a big daddy suit and the dead space suit could work with it.

Twee - February 7, 2010 05:49 AM (GMT)
Just beat the 1st game.
It was awesome. Any one see the animated movie? Its what happened
before the game. It shows how the ship got taken over.
--------------SPOILER---------------------

Well it was an awesome game alright.
Even though the ending was kinda cheap. Actually I think Issac could of
taken her. All the monsters that have grabbed on him and he just rips
em off and kicks their A**, he could have totally survived that.

purplefreak3 - February 7, 2010 06:57 AM (GMT)
I havn't beat the first game yet I would have already but I can't get past the part where you have to defend the ship with the cannon.

Anyways for the movie yea I have seen it it not bad it the storyline does kind of suck everyone dies cause of one person is too stupid to listen to orders.

Which cannon part? The one with the asteroids or against the slug?
I had to do the cannon part with the asteroids like 5 times before I beat it. Also
the part in the engine room with the fire killed me like 12 times.
The brute or black brutes I killed the first time fighting them.
Bring on the giant monsters but figin map challenges...I hate them so.

Serenity - February 8, 2010 03:07 AM (GMT)
I guess b/c my fps skills come out but the first time through the shooting of asteroids i completed it.

you guys do know you fire with both the right and left triggers right?

Twee - February 8, 2010 03:38 AM (GMT)
yea but I kept over heating it.

purplefreak3 - February 8, 2010 03:51 AM (GMT)
the part with the asteroids and I have done it more then 5 times done it prolly in the double digits I came close to beating it once.

yea but I kept over heating it.

you need to stay calm and don't go trigger happy, I guess from all my games in halo 3 where the pressure is really on helps b/c if you can do well in those tight situations and not lose focus its really easy.

just shoot the big ones at a constant rate and predict where the next ones will hit.

Twee - February 8, 2010 04:56 AM (GMT)
no spray and pray.

purplefreak3 - February 8, 2010 11:23 PM (GMT)
I finally got past the asteroids part and now onto chapter 5, those impossible to kill ones are a pain cause one false move and you are dead.

purplefreak3 - April 8, 2010 03:46 AM (GMT)
Dead Space is a Greatest Hit now on PS3 for only $30 but the funny thing is I got my copy of Dead Space (regular not GH) like 6 months ago from Best Buy for $20, I scored on that deal and didn't even know it laugh1

Serenity - April 8, 2010 04:42 AM (GMT)
yeah Dead Space is a platinum Hit for the 360 and sell for $20

I've had Dead space since its day release and still play that game, its ultra fun

I want the gun!
Soooooo much!!!

Serenity - November 15, 2010 02:49 AM (GMT)
Yeah I plan to place a pre order for the collectors edition, it looks awesome.

purplefreak3 - November 15, 2010 04:43 AM (GMT)
Hey guess what Walmart.com is selling the collector's edition for $69.82 instead of $79.99 that like totally awesome. You will get charged tax and shipping but at final price you will still be saving almost $9

Buy in store at gametop
$79.99 + $5.60 tax = $85.59

Wallmart.com
$69.82 + $4.94 shipping + $1.97 shipping = $76.73

$85.59 - $76.73 = $8.86 savings

Serenity - November 15, 2010 04:48 AM (GMT)
I'm getting mine at gamestop, I have a powercard and every purchase I make earns me discount points towards future games =)

gordogg24p - November 15, 2010 05:10 PM (GMT)
Amazon will likely drop their price on Dead Space 2 too. It is at the $79 mark now, but with Walmart dropping its price, Amazon usually follows suit. Amazon has no tax and $1 release date shipping.

purplefreak3 - December 9, 2010 05:19 AM (GMT)
well the PC one is still the same price but walmart raised the price on the PS3 and 360 version dam them banghead

Serenity - December 9, 2010 05:45 AM (GMT)
Dead Space Demo on the 21st, can't wait =)

Twee - December 10, 2010 01:14 AM (GMT)
Cause its in January I can get it for my birthday. BITCHIN!

purplefreak3 - December 10, 2010 04:10 AM (GMT)
My birthday in January too but I doubt anyone will buy me a $80 game.

Twee - December 12, 2010 01:52 AM (GMT)

Thought this would be a good place to put this. The last animated movie was pretty cool and this one better.

purplefreak3 - December 19, 2010 09:42 PM (GMT)
I will wait to I see more about to decide what I think about it.

Twee - December 20, 2010 12:21 AM (GMT)
I'll wait till it gets on netflix.

Serenity - December 21, 2010 02:00 PM (GMT)
I just finished the Dead Space 2 demo. It was awesome imo. I really like the new weapons and enemies you face. Things are a lot more fast paced than before but no worries, the scares of the Original Dead Space are also around as well. I am looking forward to this game =)

purplefreak3 - December 25, 2010 05:07 AM (GMT)
End of Dead Space 1 made not sense.

how so? He activated the marker and got away and was suffering from hallucinations.

purplefreak3 - December 25, 2010 05:58 AM (GMT)
the ending didn't really explain anything, and in the Dead Space 2 demo you are just dumped in sprawl with really no explantion why and how they are infected. Without reading on the net or playing the other Dead Space game 1 and 2 don't do very good job of bridging the storyline. Guess will have to wait until Dead Space 2 comes out too see if they explain what happen in between, and oh they should of used a different demo then what they used at E3. That a 6 month old demo and they just releasing it now.
