Anyone other PS3 user excited for January? For those who dont know, MAG is a 162 (I think that is the number, I could be wrong though) player online shooter. This game looks insane. Reminds me a bit of COD. Each squad has a leader that chooses the tactics and what not. Looks pretty cool imo.

They managed to do it because its a Sony specific server, and its run by them, only for that specific game. But they have a thing, if your internet isn't a good enough ping, you will get the boot, so it stops other's from dealing with people and your crappy internet.

thats good and bad. Good for those with good internet, but my internet is usually bad :angry:

MAG (previously titled MAG: Massive Action Game) is an upcoming MMO shooter for the PlayStation 3 in development by Zipper Interactive. The game is scheduled for release in North America on January 26, 2010.

I have been playing the MAG beta and can't so that I would buy it for $60 but it is a interesting game. I die most the time but if you get a chance to check it out I would suggest it as it will keep you entertained excepts for the parts where you have to wait to join a game.

actually that a incorrect number (162) MAG allow for 256 players at one time to be on the game.

actually that number (162) is incorrect MAG allows up to 256 players on that game at one time depending on what style you are playing. There a couple different styles but ones I have played is Domination which is the main mode which is fraction vs fraction will less spefic objectives pretty much a free for all which uses 256 players and Sabotage which uses only 64 players and has spefic objective that needs to be completed to win where attackers must infiltrate enemy facilities and hold two control points simultaneously, then destroy a demolition objective. There two more modes but can not play them in the beta version.

I can't play it :(

When I go in game it says there is a huge 600+ mb update ... thing is, it gets stuck at 5 MB and nothing happens ...

I had to turn my ps3 off since I had work and don't have the time to deal with it. How'd you get the game to work?

I've had the game since beta never really had any issues with it not downloading stuff. Did it just get stuck the one time or have you tried other times too?

next time I get on my PS3 I'll give it a try again. The first time it download only 5 mb's then got stuck and nothing happened for a long time.

Next time I attempt it I'll let you know what happens.
