Title: Playstation 3 drops $100

Yes it official confirmed today 8/18/09 that the Playstation 3 will be going down in price by $100. A new slim version will be in stores September 1st 2009 for $299 but the older version will also be offered at the $299 price.

interesting, no games that interest me much though. All the ones I want I am pre ordering and are for mainly the 360 anyways lol

Well, if I didn't get one for Christmas, I would buy one now. Either way, if the 360 drops soon, which I'm sure they will to compete with Sony and the PS3. I might pick one up, depending on price. But I doubt I'll buy one, no need to have both consoles...

I was planning on picking up a PS3 in couple months even at the $399 price but $100 drop in price works for me B)- ak $100 less I have to spend.

I don't think Sony will be dropping the price on the PS3 again any time soon if they did most likely wouldn't be for least 3 years, as the $399 was market price for about 2 years.

Yeah, I could get one now at 299, thats a deal, but for the moment I still love my PS2.

I told my local wal-mart that they were slacking. They are selling PS3s for $399 so I told the department manager that didn't they get the memo that the PS3 was dropped in price they said they been out for like a week and I was like well your sign over there says you have them and that they cost $399. One of the regular crew members said yea leave it to wal-mart to be behind in times.

go to best buy =) if you get a reward zone card too anything you buy you get $$ back =)

ahh yeah Walmart when it comes to electronics is not always the most up to date from previous experiences myself as well lol
