For Christmas I got this tv series I've never heard of called Firefly. http://www.scifi.com/firefly/

Well I thought it was ok at first watching this first episode but then it got real good and funny and the characters were really dynamic, the sad part is for some dumb reason fox canceled it after it;s first season due to low rating or some high budget cost crap. Apparently it is really popular though and the DVD sales of it are high . . . . it sucks b/c the characters were really deep and now i never get to find out their background b/c yeah the series is over.

watched this once wiht my dad.

i got into it pretty well, not as much as he did. lol

but ya, I rather enjoyed this series a lot.

Those girls River and Kayln were my favorite characters. Kayln was down to earth and River was just smart and intelligent.

Never heard of this. Too bad they canceled. I would have checked it out.

I bet you can find some episodes online but the entire Season is on DVD, just sucks it will neve continue :(

well much to my surprise, while the series was canceled it was popular enough they made a movie! B)- So yeah i went on amazon and sure enough it is the movie of all movies for the series. It will wrap up the backstory and give me a chance to see all the cool characters again =)

mine is coming thurs . . .I can't wait, finally a conclusion to a good story and tv series that should have lasted longer than fox let it. I am happy they were smart enough to make a movie.

I heard that fox treated the series bad: the shows were aired out of order, the pilot show was not shown first and other crap that fell to the demise of a great tv series . . . .there is a lot of crap on tv, thus the reason i don't watch and as for shows like Monk and The offcie i watch all the episodes on dvd. As for Firefly, I think it got a bad deal. I really liked the characters and it was funny too . . . sucks it's over but I am glad they made a feature film now :D

They cancel all the great shows, but there underated, but yet they keep s**t like America Idol and Do you Dance or W/E.

Yeah I'm glad that TBS is around too. Show most if not all of my favorites.

Currently watching the Pilot. Very good so far. I like Perky Kaylee and Inara Serra...Wow she's a knock out.

River so far is out of it in this episode but I like where it's going. She's like some super smarty pants. I can't wait to see how her story progresses.

Don't judge River by the first episode though, you really get to see her bloom as the season goes on . . .and in the Movie Serenity . . .

Oh I'm definitely gonna like this for sure. I like this kinda movie. Starhip Troopers, Stargate, I enjoy this kinda thing :D.

yeah it gets better if you like already. I was skeptical at first int he first few episodes but then i started watching all of them and that carried onward lol

So I was watching the show, and River doesn't have that big a role through the whole series. She's kind of an annoyance really. The kind of girl you'd want off the ship. Throwing, stuff around, being creepy, all that stuff. Not to mention the Alliance wants her back. I'm thinking Captain Mal kept her on board cause he wanted the doctor on the crew. If not, then I wonder what he sees in her.

However after watching this I can definitely see why they chose Summer to be a Terminatrix.

I'm also not so crazy as to how Captain Mal met Kaylee. I saw her as a sweet innocent person and after watching that scene on how he met her it kinda took some of that away. :blink:

Yeah I never saw River as annoying ever. I felt sorry for what the government did to her and want her to get better.

lol I think you misunderstand her character totally.

She's a REALLY smart girl who can calculate stuff in her head but the government messes with her head and makes her scared. Have you seen the episode where Simon takes her to the hospital yet?

Also her role is much bigger once you see Serenity b/c the series was planning for her to take a bigger role but of course it got cut short.

She's a fugitive like her brother and a living weapon. She is unstable and it's not her fault.

I am currently in the Hospital episode.

Yes it does shed a new light on her story. I needed to get to this episode to see why she is the way that she is. Ha!! Jayne is an idiot.

So I'm noticing she can see the future and that's why she cut Jayne.

yeah she's not a psycho or anything, She once was a smart normal girl until the government did stuff too her. Serenity the movie shows you more of her story and WHY she is the most important character.

I liked her from the beginning tbh, and remember this was before I knew about T:SCC or the movie Serenity. I just have a heart for characters like River.

About to start the last episode of the series. :D
