Ok before I even start please keep in mind NONE of this is definite or will happen unless you (the members) feel it's a good idea or like it, also there are some changes that will be happening but not major, so read away . .

CHANGES EFFECTIVE TONIGHT

-New Registering Member Fixes:

There has been a major issue with new members, like xzrezbot it was very hard to validate him b/c of the amount of spam bot registering, on average we are getting over 40+ registrations each day and it is a lot of work to go through them all, so when a guest comes here and wants to join they also have to pass a simple 'post' test. All they will have to do is leave which username they registered with and I will validate them. It has been very hard to tell real people from bots registering so I will be doing new setup from now on.

CHANGES EFFECTIVE LATER THIS WEEK

-New Staff

While this place may seem 'slow' what is happening behind the scenes is getting rather busy. While we have Aaron and Deijr here as mods they are simply for protection of the site. Depending on what jobs need to be done I may be considering getting another Admin with me, yes one of you few qualified members here at IBF could be admin with me ^_^ The current people i am considering are the following: And, gokyle, Harvick, and mbuckingham.

-New Direction

While we are all here to support Ivana and I have in no way lost interest in the movies she has been in like Pan's Labyrinth and such,but I have noticed the member base here is really into movies and graphics. I was thinking of making the forum not so centered on Ivana anymore and making it into a movie and graphics place. Now please understand if you all feel we should keep it as it is, don't worry, this is all up to you. I won't change a thing unless you feel the same way. I am fine with it still being called Ivana Baquero Forums and such but I feel we all enjoy a wide variety of movies, game, and graphics. So let me know what you think

-New look

If everyone feels we should make the forum into something else I will of course make the board into a different design. I like the design so I may just change colors if we decide on a new direction for the place.

-New Domain Name

Of course if we name the board into something else I will of course get a new domain name, like the rest, this is not certian

If you have an idea that you wanna run by me feel free, I'm more than willing to share whatever wisdom I have on how it may have worked for us at THL.

While I certainly understand the impetus to shift the focus of the site, given the relative lack of Ivana-centric discussion on a day-to-day basis, I would say at least that a section with multiple sub-fora should remain dedicated to discussion of Ivana. Though frankly since we have the forum set up with multiple venues for "off-topic" discussion, I don't see how the present set-up is deficient.

We can set the place up anyway we like, I would never delete any topics either, I would just re-organize and move stuff around. Ivana is still my #1 Actress and it's not like i lost interest or anything either. We can keep the place the same if everyone likes B)-

I think it will be a good idea to change the format of the board around a little.

If we keep the section for Ivana we might as well not change anything in the bulk of the forums (like Domain name, board name, ect.) We don't have to change unless we want to. I am fine as it is now, this is just for any members to voice their opinion.

I am thinking however to expand the graphics, games, and movie area to a much larger thing than just a small section . . . . what do you all think??

the most part here r not from something related to ivana, i did join from ivana yes, but i am not interested in nothing about her more
also, few people are interested some about ivana here

Yeah another Admin may be useful.

But the only reason I'm really here (and a few other people) is that it is the Ivana Forums, and in reality, it is still very centered around Ivana. So personally, I'm loathed for it to become anything other than the Ivana Forums, but certainly expand the graphics, games, and media, sections!

It is interesting how conversation has evolved though!

Im in either way, I'd think if we change we should still keep Ivana a big part of it. Also, I think we could put more into movies and Graphics. I supprort your desicion Josh.

Also thank you Josh for considering me as a Mod, but I'd like to only stay as a member. I think it would be better for me at the moment to stay an active member.

I mea She was the soul purpose of this web site and I'll admit im not really here for the Ivana part of this site. I will talk tho with anything related to pan's labyrinth b/c ive seen it. but i like to focus more on the sports, music, and graphics sections more.

oh yeah you won't see any spam bots here lol, I keep them out, but you should see the registration list I have to sort through each day, it's crazy /crazy//

I wonder Wy they target your board?? The google Adds or the Custom Url because I have had like no Bot problems at boards I have ran.

Does you're place have a domain name and is it on page one for important stuff? Domain names make sites have an easier way of being found by people and bots . . . considering the fact were are on high search lists when people google the words 'Ivana Baquero' were bound to get a high search rate

like bots for viagra and trojenz. laugh1

I tried really hard to control those, but I lost the battle.


And Josh just a warning, your board is still young and for it's age it's very successful. But you risk a lot when doing a major overhaul. Maybe not now, but down the road you really have to have things set in stone, like the overall point of the board. So get it set on something you're going to be comfortable with now AND later so you don't run into tougher decisions down the road.

Thanks Aaron, yeah i understand, I think the members have decided to stay the same but add more to the forum. Later this week I can make changes and such ^_^

i think a 'Pan's labyrinth forum' would be cool
i imagine that 1st intention from josh was create a forum dedicated to ivana baquero, as you said you was impressed with her performance and such... but as the our discussions to tour around several topics, like sports, films, Nascar (which i'm out) include, all of us like pans labyrinth, so i think would be good the forum 'pans-labyrinth-forum' (even i think if it does there be another up)

If you want to center around movies you could
add thing with more actors and more movies
to keep the Ivana threads and change around a little.
this is your forum and you make the final decision and all.
The color I like cause its not to bright.
