Title: Take her far away . . .

So . . .

What would happen if YOU were allowed to intervene in the movie? :D

What I mean is, you knew about Ofelia and her circumstances and after mom had just died, ALSO let's say her fantasy world did not exist?? Would you go and rescue her before Vidal shot her?? where would you take her??

What would you do as the only person that could save Ofelia from death of the evil hands of Vidal?? Would you let her die or come and be her only hope??

i'd simply try evitet a painful end, i d comunicate the ofelia and mercedez what size danger she's living it, the best way were so to run way from the place to jungle, even it d be high danger the best way to protect a child

While I understand the necessity of her death in the film and wouldn't change the ending in the least, if the situation were playing out in the real world and I somehow found myself in that part of Spain in 1944, I would kill Vidal before he shot her, no question. From there I would probably try to get her out of the country along with Mercedes, so she'd have someone to look after her, but I'm not sure to where exactly.

I'm not leaving poor Ofelia with Vidal anymore, first thing I'd do is to go and get her and start to leave for england, where I know that she'll be safe!

I'd try to save her if I could. Maybe help her and her brother get away from the mill. Maybe I could take them to the forest, and eventually, somewhere else.

Of course, I'd have to do that before she got into the labyrinth; I wouldn't be able to help that much in there, i'd probably get lost. And if the fantasy world didn't exist, would that mean that I would have to convince her it didn't? That would probably be a bit hard.

If I had a car I'd drive as fast as i could to her, and in the process of driving I see Vidal I'd run him over ak

But once I found Ofelia I would kneel down to her level, tell her everythig is going to be ok and bring her with me. I'd tell her I'd try to find her a loving family that could take care of her. If I was well of and older I might would adopt her but if I was te age I am now I'd just try to find a safe place for her.

I'd poison his scotch and get Ofelia out of their.

I figure the best time to get her out of there would be the final rebel attack on the mill, otherwise you'd be dealing with Vidal's soldiers, and I don't relish the idea of shooting it out with two dozen Falangists. Once Vidal is alone in the labyrinth but before he's shot Ofelia, I'd shoot him (running him over would be difficult in the maze and if he were to survive, he might well come after his son, further jeopardizing Ofelia; poisoning would do, but having lived by the sword, as it were, he should die by it). I would then escape with Ofelia and her brother (Mercedes too if she'd come) across the border into newly liberated France and from there to a Spanish speaking country that would be stable for the next decade or two or, failing that, to a country with a decent Spanish speaking immigrant population (since it would be an easier transition for her if she didn't have to learn a new language).
